Can you tell us about your cattle farm and its location?

Our cattle farm is situated in the Karoo, within the MZCPE—a protected environment that includes two National Parks. It’s a unique and pristine area that allows us to raise our cattle in a truly natural and sustainable way.

What makes your mince different from conventional beef mince?

Our mince is incredibly nutrient-dense and flavorful because it includes all the prime cuts—fillets, sirloin, you name it! We believe in using the entire animal, which ensures a balanced fat content and higher levels of essential nutrients like protein, vitamins, and minerals. We also take care to remove 5% fat and 2% sinew, so there’s no gristle.

How do you farm your cows?

Our cattle spend 1000 days grazing in the veld, compared to the 6-8 months typical of conventional beef cows. This extended period in the veld allows the cattle to develop naturally, resulting in more flavorful and nutrient-rich meat. It’s all part of our commitment to quality and natural farming.

What do your cows eat?

Our cattle are raised on a diet of natural grazing—no grains. Ruminants like cattle are not naturally grain-eaters, so we allow them to feed on what nature provides in the Karoo veld. This ensures their diet is in harmony with their natural needs, which translates to healthier meat for our customers.

Do you use any medications, vaccinations, or antibiotics on your cattle?

No, our cattle are never medicated, vaccinated, or given antibiotics. We believe in raising our animals as naturally as possible, which means avoiding these interventions and allowing the cattle to develop strong, natural immunity.

Traceability is very important to us. Our cows have only ever lived on our farm within the MZCPE. When you purchase our meat, you know exactly where it comes from, giving you complete peace of mind about its origin.

How do you ensure the cattle are treated humanely?

Our experienced stockmen treat the cattle with the utmost care and respect. Humane treatment is a cornerstone of our farming philosophy, ensuring that the animals live good lives and that their welfare is prioritized throughout their time on our farm.

What kind of cows do you have?

We proudly embrace Nguni genetics because these indigenous cattle are perfectly adapted to our environment. Their hardiness and ability to thrive in the Karoo’s challenging conditions make them an ideal choice for sustainable, regenerative farming.

How do you handle the slaughtering process?

We ensure that our cattle are slaughtered with the utmost care at a registered abattoir. Every step of the process adheres to the strictest standards of hygiene, safety, and animal welfare, reflecting our commitment to respect and quality from farm to table.
